the cotton anniversary

I can't believe it's been a year since the paper anniversary. Since Jon and I made the huge financial commitment of buying a house and have a baby coming within single-digits (!!) weeks, we opted to forego presents this year, or at least until we know what our financial situation will be like come August. Instead we opted for a fancy meal at our favourite Thai restaurant.

The first picture from the wedding day I saw of the two of us.
Onto the mushy stuff:

My love, there isn't a day that goes by that I'm not floored by the fact that God picked you for me. I often feel undeserving of your selflessness, grace, patience, and adoration. I am short with you, cranky, and often times I forget to remind you just how special you are to me. You have far exceeded the role of husband and are truly my best friend. The highlight of each day is waking up to you and then ending each day with you by my side. I love our late-night talks and the way we think really stupid things are hilarious. Years ago I never thought I'd find my forever love mostly because spending more than 4 days straight with any single person was enough to drive me to the brink of insanity, but the night of your concert at Peabody's you showed up and changed all of that. I forgive you for not calling me after I gave you my number. Our first kiss is still one of my all-time favourite memories (you were so nervous! it was adorable). The way you hold my hand and know exactly what to do and say to calm me down when I'm anxious or panicked is a constant reminder that you complete me perfectly. You complement my personality in more ways than I ever thought possible. You keep me grounded, mellow me out, and gently push me back onto the right path should I start to wander. I am so excited for our future, to see you as a dad, and to spend the rest of my life with you by my side. I love you to the moon and back.

The night we celebrated our 2-year anniversary!
