baby flip's nursery

Yesterday we finally completed the baby's nursery! Our goals for the nursery were:
-gender neutral
-bicycles and elephants (odd combo, I know)
-orange creamsicle with pops of bright color, especially teals
The crib bumpers are not included right now because the original pattern my mom used didn't fit our crib so she's tweaking them. But other than that, it's complete and I'm totally in love with it. Hands down my favourite room of the house.

The crib bedding, curtains, changing pad cover, rocking chair cushion covers, and diaper organizer were all handmade by my mom. The bicycle paintings were a team effort between my big sister and my mom. The rocking chair is my mom's great aunt's and is a family heirloom. The dresser was a freebie gift from some family friends that we repainted. The only two pieces of furniture that are new were the bookshelf (Target, $19.99) and the crib (and we painted the crib drawer to match the dresser/orange stripes in the room). The shelf above the changing table, including the light that Jon attached underneath for nighttime changings, as well as the rug were IKEA purchases (but the shelf/light were purchased well before we got pregnant and repurposed for the nursery). Finally, the Baby Flip elephant art was a gift from our friend, Tessa, and we love where it lives now. I'm definitely feeling much more prepared for BF's arrival knowing his/her room is complete and waiting for baby!

    1. Thanks! I've found myself just sitting in there a few times to stare at it and process the fact that we'll have a baby to put in there in just a few weeks!

  2. Did your mom use a pattern for the diaper organizer? I'm not very freehand crafty but I can work with a pattern and I love the look of it (plus getting things up on the wall and out from underneath the changing table).

The whole room is so cute!

    1. Thanks! My mom used a pattern--she's going to get me the pattern info and I'll pass it along in these comments as soon as she does.
