chicago

Have you ever gotten so far behind on something that you then avoid it by all means necessary because the amount of catch-up is too overwhelming?

That's totally me and this blog right now.

We just got back from a weekend trip to Chicago and while it was totally amazing, anyone who travels with young kids knows you get home needing a vacation from your vacation. Couple the travel insanity with unpacking/laundry, dinners with friends and routine doctors appointments and you find yourself in a productivity pickle. Why do something productive when you can cash in your Bing points to get free Hulu Plus to binge on Mindy Project? You don't. It's unAmerican.

  1. Here's the thing: when you go somewhere with kids it's not a vacation, it's a trip. Even if it looks like a vacation and smells like a vacation and costs like a vacation... it's going to feel like a trip.
