october 1

Once a week, a group of young families from our church gets together for a potluck-style meal and socialization. It is a time we cherish greatly since these years can be so isolating. On Saturday, we had the first (of what will hopefully be annual!) fall party with our small group. We had it at the family farm of one of our group members. They had tables setup in a barn for eating/pumpkin painting, pumpkins set out for the kids to choose from (it had rained for several days straight so we figured this would be an easier approach than having a horde of toddlers traipsing around a muddy field), a bonfire to cook hotdogs and s'mores over, and a hayride. I was nervous about the weather because even the night before they were calling for a rainy day, but it ended up being sunny with highs in the low 70s. It was truly perfect.
At one point I think 7/9 of us were pregnant!? I'm next in line to give birth..

Our kids had so much fun (as did we) and it was the perfect fall day to welcome October.
