tuesday outtakes #1

As you know, we took the kids to see Sesame Street Live this weekend. In my post I shared all about how they were so happy and the most perfect little cherubs in the whole world.

Well, here is what I didn't share:
Once the show was over we attempted to get some photos. Our children were not having it. Intentionally looking away from the camera, stomping their feet at us (this is their new favorite way to show their disapproval and also a one-way ticket to time out) and generally raising their voices. We gave them a pass since they had done so well, but unfortunately the show did mean late naps/quiet time and bad attitudes the remainder of the day. We were all ready for bedtime by about 5 pm and I know I raised my voice more than once. For every picture-worthy memory there is a behind the scenes that is likely a lot less glamorous. Our kids can behave beautifully, but they also have their moments (and usually their moments are big and loud). Thankfully most of their moments on Saturday were confined to our home so we didn't have to stress about disrupting others while they misbehaved.

  1. I'm sorry the photos didn't work out but I'm glad you had a good time!! Love this post idea.

  2. OH my goodness, I love this link up! Putting on my calendar right now! Somtimes don't you just want to yell and say, I just did something super nice for you, be grateful and smile, that's all I want, hehe :)

    1. Oh my goodness, yes! Our oldest two have been fighting so much with us and each other lately it's out of control. Even over things they should be grateful for! They love to try to barter for more dessert after dinner and half the time I'm like you're lucky I let you have ANY!

  3. Oh boy that sounds like a rough day! But at least you got some pretty cute pictures from the show!

    1. Our days have definitely felt a lot longer than usual lately between the bigs fighting and the littlest not sleeping. I'm trying to remind myself the days are long but the years are short but typically at 3 am I could care less about the years beng short!
