four on friday valentine's edition

{source}
{1} Elden and Edith love getting mail. I really wanted to do something for them on Valentine's Day, but I am not about to order 6 cake pops for $30 to be delivered. Then I realized I was wayyy overthinking things, so I'm just going to reuse some boxes we got from Target recently and put their Valentine's gifts in those. I'll write their names on their boxes and leave them on the porch when I go to work and then Jon will realize they were "delivered" once the kids wake up. We got them this game and this game for their tablets and then I am getting them some candy from Target.

{2} Let me just tell you that two days into my month of veganism and I am in a rough way. I already started scouring the net for some vegan Valentine's treats I could make for myself Jon and I think I landed on these no bake vegan almond butter cup bars.

{3} Speaking of Jon, we don't typically celebrate Valentine's Day outside of making ourselves a nicer dinner than usual that day. This month is no exception since at the end of the month we are going on an adult only dinner/bowling date with some friends from church. I'm kind of leaning towards this vegan fondue for Valentine's Day.

{4} I don't typically decorate for Valentine's because I'm still recovering from the clean-up involved in January from Christmas. This year I might make an exception and buy this banner, slap it on my mantel and call it good. For $3, why not!?

What are your Valentine's traditions?

  1. Happy Friday! I'm popping by from the H54F link up. Such a cute idea for Valentines! I'm sure your kiddos will love that! That banner is adorable too! Have a fantastic first weekend of February!

  2. The Almond Butter Cup Bars look delicious. I'm not vegan, but I'm allergic to dairy and eggs, so I have a lot of vegan dessert/baking cookbooks. My favorites are; The Allergen-Free Baker's Handbook by Cybele Pascal,Decadent Gluten-free Vegan Baking by Cara Reed and Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar by Isa Chandra Moskowitz.
